This Privacy Policy describes how Sydney Spitz ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the DEKT mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — provided directly or via your Google or Apple account
• Display name — chosen by you during sign-up
• Age category — derived from your date of birth at sign-up (we store only whether you are under 13, 13–17, or 18+; we do not store your date of birth)

1.2 Gameplay Data

We collect detailed gameplay analytics for each run you play, including:

• Guesses made (higher, lower, same) and their outcomes
• Upgrades purchased, triggered, and skipped
• In-game currency earned and spent
• Run duration, rounds completed, and final scores
• Decision timing (how long each guess takes)
• Deck type, stake level, and special events encountered

This data is used exclusively for game balancing and improving the player experience. It is not shared with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.

1.3 Leaderboard Data

If you appear on a leaderboard, your display name and score are visible to other players.

1.4 Device & Local Data

The App stores preferences, settings, and game progress locally on your device using standard mobile storage. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App, including account authentication and cross-device progress syncing
• Display leaderboards and player statistics
• Balance game mechanics (upgrade effectiveness, economy tuning, difficulty curves)
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to serve advertisements, build advertising profiles, or sell your information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication) — stores your account data and gameplay analytics. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Apple Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Apple. See Apple Privacy Policy.

We do not use any third-party analytics services, crash reporting tools, or advertising networks.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We require users to provide their age during sign-up. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data as described in Section 7. Aggregated, anonymized gameplay statistics (used for game balancing) may be retained indefinitely and cannot be linked back to you.

6. Data Security

Your data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (TLS) and stored on Google Firebase infrastructure. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain. While no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

7. Your Rights & Choices

7.1 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings within the App. Account deletion removes:

• Your user profile and email
• All gameplay analytics and run history
• Saved game progress and checkpoints
• Local data and authentication tokens

Please note: leaderboard entries created before deletion may remain visible but cannot be linked to a deleted account.

7.2 Data Export

You can export a copy of all your personal data (profile, gameplay analytics, and game history) in JSON format from Settings within the App.

7.3 Opt-Out

The App does not engage in behavioral tracking or targeted advertising. Gameplay analytics are collected solely for game balance purposes and cannot be opted out of while maintaining an account.

8. International Users

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which may be located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these facilities.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
